Dr Javier Osorio Aguilar

Bachelor of Medicine and specialist in General Surgery. He has specialized in obesity and diabetes surgery, and has extensive experience in this field, with more than 1,000 patients operated on since 2003.

He also has extensive experience in laparoscopic surgery for multiple benign and malignant pathologies, such as gallbladder resection, surgery for gastroesophageal reflux and hiatal hernia, gastric and colon tumor pathology, diverticulitis and assessment and treatment of urgent abdominal pathology. .

He currently combines his surgical activity at the Bellvitge University Hospital with his private clinic, in addition to regularly giving courses to bariatric surgeons from other countries.

He is an active member of the Spanish Society for Obesity Surgery (SECO) and the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity (IFSO). He was president of the Catalan Society of Medical-Surgical Endoscopy from 2015 to 2019, establishing university courses in laparoscopy and endoscopy.
